Apollo 13 calling Houston: We have a problem!

55 hours into the Apollo 13 lunar mission, there is a loud bang! Service module oxygen tank no. 2 explodes. The emergency supplies of oxygen and electricity last for 10 hours, and the astronauts are far from earth. The passengers on the spacecraft will die unless the astronauts, along with the staff at the Mission Control Center in Houston, can solve the problems. The participants must help the crew back to earth. To succeed, people, processes and tools must function optimally.

Each participant gets a specific role - everything from Change and Incident Manager to Service Desk and technical specialists. All ITIL processes come into play and the participants experience the importance of good processes and good teamwork under challenging and realistic circumstances.

The simulation game

Apollo 13 takes place in one day and is perfect as part of team building.

The participants are part of a Mission Control Center for NASA. Their goal is to support the crew during the mission. They must design your services, implement them, deliver them and apply continuous improvement practices to make the mission a success. Over four rounds, the participants are challenged with issues, challenges, events, changes and increasing business requirements. They must apply ITSM best practice to be successful. You will guide the crew through the launch, journey to and from the moon, and to a safe return to earth, while realizing the strategic objectives of the mission.
