MarsLander® - Make ITSM agile and lean

MarsLander® takes place in 1 day and is perfect as part of a team building day.

Landing a craft on Mars is complex - there's a lot of software, complex systems and a need to react quickly to unpredictable events. It is the same with today's complex IT solutions and the IT department's reaction times, and IT service management processes must be flexible and agile – agile service management, agile, ITIL etc.!

MarsLander is a simulation game that trains you in the above. Your challenge in the game is to support the Mission Center in fulfilling all mission objectives. On the journey to Mars, the mission is exposed to a number of challenges that require both service management and agility to succeed in the undertaking.

The simulation game

The mission director leads the mission center and a team of flight operations, navigation and communications experts. These specialists manage the mission's flight plan in accordance with mission objectives and contractual agreements with customers and suppliers.

The Mission Support Team consists of Support Engineers, Test Engineers and Change Management. They will solve any problems that arise during the mission. The development team develops and maintains applications, features and application patches. Vendors support the Mission Support Team with data communication services and data storage services. The Service Manager will manage service design, service delivery and service improvement.
