How does a SAFe® journey look?

We are entering a highly unpredictable era, and organizations will need greater adaptability. That’s why many are looking for agile ways of organizing, and the agile journey starts with SAFe®.

What is SAFe®?

The Scaled Agile Framework is the leading framework for large organizations who opperates with a Lean-Agile approach. SAFe® provides a structure that establishes shared principles and a common language within agile organizations. It enables coordination and synchronization of work—and ultimately, delivery—across multiple teams and suppliers.

Where does the SAFe® journey begin?

If you’re a leader in an agile organization or responsible for driving agile transformations in larger enterprises, the Leading SAFe® course is the natural starting point for you. If you’re part of a team preparing for agile transformation, we recommend the SAFe® for Teams course, which builds an understanding of how an Agile Release Train (ART) delivers value and how to effectively perform your role using Scrum, Kanban, and more.

What's comes next?

If you're already experienced in applying Agile principles, it may be time to specialize with one of SAFe®'s advanced courses.

SAFe® Scrum Master explores the Scrum Master role in a broader organizational context, where traditional Scrum Master training focuses on the team level. The SAFe Scrum Master also focuses on building high-performing Agile teams through coaching. This role is essential in ensuring teams deliver maximum business value. As a certified SAFe® Scrum Master, you can work in both SAFe® organizations and smaller teams, increasing your value to organizations adopting SAFe®.

SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager (PO/PM) provides an Agile toolkit for managing requirements in development. You'll work with market rhythms, customer insights, product understanding, and release planning—along with writing effective Epics, Features, and User Stories.

From the SAFe® DevOps course participants gain tools to enable continuous improvement in the flow of value and identify practices that remove bottlenecks to accelerate time-to-market. The course also covers the end-to-end value stream and SAFe’s CALMR approach to DevOps, which aligns people, processes, and technology across the organization while fostering shared accountability for solution delivery.

The SAFe® for Architects is designed to help architects work in a Lean-Agile way, this course addresses their critical role in scaled solutions by providing technical vision and guidance to development teams. Architects must understand their role in SAFe implementation and engage early to help define and enable the organization’s Lean-Agile transformation. Participants learn how to lead technically, collaborate with stakeholders on future business goals, and secure alignment from technology leadership.

SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management consists of three key areas: Strategy and funding, Agile portfolio operations, and Lean governance. The course helps leaders, program managers, and key stakeholders plan dynamically, adjusting initiatives and budgets as markets shift. Participants gain tools to work effectively in remote environments with distributed teams, connecting portfolio strategy to execution while adapting to change—with a focus on vision and roadmap management.
