Why should a company work with information security?

We must have our information security under control. Most organizations would agree. But why is it so important? And how much should we invest in security - for what is it worth?

The IT boss's top agenda in 2023 is unquestionably Information Security. The threats around us have increased as we witness wars, terror, espionage, crime, destruction - the list is long. Therefore, it is not a question of how much you spend on IT security, but rather a question of whether the right IT security could secure the survival of the business.

There are three very central concepts when talking about IT Security:

  1. Confidentiality (Protection of Confidentiality)

The targeted security measures prevent unauthorized access to the company's sensitive information, such as customer information, trade secrets and strategic plans.

  1. Integrity (integrity of data)

It is important to ensure the integrity of the company's data. Information security prevents unauthorized changes to data, so that data always reflects reality and is correct

  1. Avaliability(availability of information)

The information security handler is not only to protect data from unauthorized access, but also to ensure that the necessary information is available to those who need it, when they need it.

In a digital age, businesses are exposed to a variety of cyber threats, such as malware, phishing and ransomware. Information security helps protect against these threats and minimize risks of cyber attacks. Many legal requirements and industry standards require companies to protect their data. Complying with these requirements is not only a legal obligation, but it can also have significant consequences for the company's reputation.
