We have implemented PPM solutions in many different organizations. Common to these implementations is the importance of focusing on the technical solution throughout the implementation process, as well as on processes, governance and change management. We recommend that implementation processes take place according to agile principles, so that work is done with "build iterations".
In relation to implementation and anchoring in the organization, it is our experience that it is advantageous to implement a new solution in a defined organizational area, alternatively on part of the project portfolio. Some experiences are made here, and adjustments are made on the basis of the experiences. At the same time, this implementation ensures that there are a group of super users from the first implementation area who will be important change agents in the organization.
